Salt and Brine

The treasure of Bad Salzhausen flows many feet under the surface: salt-containing water, which emerges from the ground in six mineral springs. A lithium spring, a chalybeate spring, a sulphur spring and three salt springs can be found only a few feet apart from another, separated by just a couple of steps. There are lots of possible applications for the salt-containing waters. In the 19th century the brine was already an important basis for numerous forms of therapies: so-called tub baths were very popular, and doctors would gladly advise to “take the waters”.

Today you can experience the pleasant effects of the brine in our special swimming pool (Solebewegungsbad). Get away from everyday life and submerge in healthy saltwater – this is possible in Bad Salzhausen at a delightful water temperature of 32° C (outdoor pool 28° C). In our pool you can take a break from your daily routine and simultaneously strengthen your heart and circulatory system with Aqua-Fitness. An attached sauna world offers pure relaxation. At 70° C, respectively 90° C you can strengthen your immune system. If you prefer the effects of brine in a drier way, we recommend the gradation works in the middle of the Spa Gardens. The salty water trickles through the black thorn twigs and the air is enriched with water vapour and a high salt content. Take a deep breath, collect your strength and restore your health.
